FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE “Christmas without Santa: the Reason for the Season,” a new children’s book by Deb Cornin that addresses the complexity of the issue through a little boys eyes.
October 22, 2008 – Just in time for the Christmas Season Deborah Cornin, Doll Maker Extraordinaire will publish "Christmas without Santa: The Reason for the Season.” This Holiday tale is based on Author Deb Cornin’s personal experiences raising her two boys and reflects on the youngest son's questioning of Santa Clause versus their family's focus on the Nativity and birth of Christ Jesus. Married to Reverend Errol Cornin, Deb knows first hand just how to share the complexity of the issue with a childlike curiosity, while leaving out judgments so that the reader can draw their own conclusion. In fact, her approach makes it easy for parents to approach the topic with ease. This story is a delight for parent and child, as well as for Christian and non-Christians. The book is due to be released November 15th, 2008 by Sweeties Books of Silver Springs, MD. “After meeting with Deb we all held hands and prayed and that very afternoon a publisher was found who is enthusiastic about the story line,” says Publishing Agent Rochelle O’Neal Thorpe. “It’s was as if Sweetie’s Book was the answer to our prayer.” About the Author Deborah Cornin is a Doll Maker, Home Maker, and mother of two boys who live in Boston, Massachusetts. Married to Errol Cornin, she also has the supportive role and duties of a Preacher’s wife. Deb has a rare collection of Playscale dolls and dollhouses set in real life scenes that were inspired by her recovery from a tragic event in her life. After being attacked at home at night by an intruder, she was left in a state of shock and depression. The only way she found her way back to normalcy was in becoming creative and this led to the creation of her caricatures of African American culture. Not only that, Deb has become a prolific writer and is schedule to release two more books by Spring 2009; one will be a book illustrating her doll collection and the second book a second children’s book “My Baby Brother the Bully,” which is illustrated by her cousin Gregory Corbin.
